아트박스에서 구매한 건담 컨버지 27탄 겔구그 캐논이다. 같은 버전에 죠니 라이덴 전용 겔구그 캐논도 발매한 것으로 알고 있는데, 매장에는 이 녀석 하나 남아있었다. 컨버지는 한번 쭈욱 모았다가 처분하기를 반복하는데 이 녀석은 부디 오래 소장하기를 바라며..
프로포션은 원작 겔구그의 디자인을 잘 살리면서 작고 귀엽게 잘 나왔다. 유니콘에서 나온 소데츠키 겔구그 같은 다른 겔구그들은 머리 디자인이 좀 달라서 머리가 굉장히 큰데 이 겔구그 캐논은 디자인이 달라서 머리가 좀 작다. 소두라 비율이 더 좋아 보인다. 약간 파스텔톤이 섞인 애매한 파란인데 묘하게 자꾸 보게되는 예쁜 색감이다.
2024년 4월에 프리미엄 반다이 한정 MSV MG겔구그 캐논 2.0 버전으로 발매했었는데, 그 제품이랑 색도 상당히 비슷하다. 굳이 따지면 컨버지가 조금 진한 것 같기도. 아마 광이 없어서 그런것 아닐까 싶은데 어쨌든 꽤 비슷하다.
무장은 겔구그 기본 무장인 빔 나기나타와 빔 라이플에다가 RA-2 빔 캐논, 360mm 자이언트 바주카, 버클러 실드, 3연장 미사일 런처를 장비한다.
27탄에 건질게 좀 있는 것 같아서 시드 즈고크랑 샤아 자쿠는 구매하려고 생각중이다.

This is the Gelgoog Cannon from Gundam Converge Vol. 27, which I picked up at ARTBOX. I believe a Johnny Ridden custom Gelgoog Cannon was also released in the same wave, but this was the only one left in the store. I’ve gone through cycles of collecting and selling Converge figures over the years, but I’m hoping this one stays in my collection for a long time.
The proportions are nicely done — it preserves the original Gelgoog design while giving it a compact and cute Converge-style look. Compared to other Gelgoog variants, like the Sleeves-type Gelgoog from Gundam Unicorn, which has a noticeably larger head due to its redesigned helmet, this Gelgoog Cannon has a smaller head thanks to its different design. The smaller head gives it much better overall balance and proportions. The color is a slightly ambiguous blue mixed with pastel tones, but it’s oddly attractive and keeps drawing my attention.
In April 2024, Premium Bandai released the MSV MG Gelgoog Cannon 2.0 as a limited item, and the color scheme is surprisingly similar to that kit. If anything, the Converge version looks slightly darker — probably because it lacks the glossy finish — but overall the resemblance is quite strong.
For armaments, it comes equipped with the standard Gelgoog weapons: a Beam Naginata and Beam Rifle, along with the RA-2 Beam Cannon, a 360mm Giant Bazooka, a Buckler Shield, and a triple missile launcher.
There seem to be a few good picks in Vol. 27, so I’m thinking about picking up the SEED Z’Gok and Char’s Zaku as well.
