일본의 만화 <카난 님은 초보 악마> 원작으로 하는 애니메이션이다. 원작 코믹스는 2022년부터 발매해 게시글 작성일 기준 13권까지 발매했다. 국내에서도 11권까지하게 발매중이다.
젊고 달콤한 인간의 영혼을 먹기 위해 인간계로 내려온 카난이 사실은 첫 사랑도 해보지 않은 모솔이라 벌어지는 러브 코미디이다. 러브 보다는 코미디에 좀 더 비중이 실려있고, 카난의 독백과 대사가 굉장히 많다. 착각 때문에 벌어지는 착각 코미디 요소도 존재함.
카난의 성우는 <카구야 님은 고백 받고싶어>의 카구야 성우인 '코가 아오이'. 카난이라는 캐릭터랑도 잘 어울리고 연기력도 뛰어나 대사가 굉장히 많음에도 어색함 없이 자연스럽다. 하지만 카구야라는 캐릭터가 너무 강렬했어서 계속 카구야가 생각남.
애초에 남자 캐릭터에는 비중을 안주려고 했던 것인지, 남주임에도 정말 대충 만든듯한 캐릭터 디자인이다. 특징없는 평범한 캐릭터를 의도한건지는 모르겠어도, 그냥 조연같은데 당당히 주연 자리를 차지하고 있다. 작화 퀄리티는 그렇게 뛰어나지는 않아서 좀 아쉽다.
줄거리/시놉시스
인간의 영혼을 먹어치우는, 요염하고도 아름다운 악마가 강림한다. 그 어떤 맛있는 음식에도 '맛'을 느끼지 못하는 미식의 악마 카난. 그녀는 젊고 달콤한 영혼을 맛보기 위해 인간 세계의 고등학교에 내려왔다.
첫 번째 제물로 선택된 것은 같은 학교의 한 남학생, 쿄우기 요우지.
“나에게 먹힌다는 건 아주 영광스러운 일이야. 감사히 여기도록 해라, 하등 생물.”
그런데, 어째서인지 쿄우기와 연인 계약을 맺게 되는데!? 수천 년을 살아왔음에도 첫사랑조차 해본 적 없는 순수한 카난에게는 매일이 두근거림의 연속!

This anime is based on the Japanese manga Mistress Kanan is Devilishly Easy Kanan-sama is Easy as Hell. The original comic began serialization in 2022, and as of the time of writing, 13 volumes have been released in Japan. The series is also being published domestically, with up to Volume 11 currently available.
The story follows Kanan, a young demon who descends to the human world to devour the souls of sweet and innocent humans. However, despite her bold mission, she has never even experienced her first love, leading to a romantic comedy full of awkward situations. The series leans more heavily toward comedy than romance, featuring a large amount of internal monologue and dialogue from Kanan herself. Much of the humor comes from misunderstandings and misconception-based comedy.
Kanan is voiced by Aoi Koga, best known for playing Kaguya in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. Her voice fits Kanan perfectly, and her performance feels natural even though the character has an unusually large amount of dialogue. That said, Kaguya was such a strong and memorable role that I occasionally found myself being reminded of that character while watching.
It almost feels like the creators intentionally avoided giving too much presence to the male lead. Despite being the main male character, his design looks surprisingly plain and underdeveloped. Maybe the intention was to portray him as an ordinary, unremarkable person, but he often comes across more like a supporting character who somehow occupies a protagonist’s position. The animation quality itself isn’t particularly outstanding either, which is a bit disappointing.
