아트박스에서 구매한 건담 컨버지 27탄 겔구그 캐논 죠니 라이덴 전용기이다. 지난번 하늘색 컨버지 갤구그 캐논도 아트박스에서 구매했는데 이번에도 아트박스에서 구매했다. 이번엔 다른 지점. 아트박스에 컨버지 파는걸 알게되어서 이제 길에 아트박스가 보이면 들어가게 된다.
죠니 라이덴은 기동전사 건담 MSV에 등장하는 지온군 모빌슈트 파일럿이다. MSV는 모빌 슈트 베리에이션으로 설정집이라고 보면 된다. 이 MSV 설정에서는 말단 하사로 입대해 실력 하나로 소령까지 진급한 에이스 파일럿이다. 지온 공국 전체 격추수는 3위라고 한다. 이명은 진홍의 번개.
최후의 전투인 아 바오아 쿠 공방전에 붉은 갤구그를 타고 참전하지만, 이후 소식은 불명이라고 한다. 아 바오아 쿠에 참전한 갤구그가 바로 이번에 발매한 이 갤구그 캐논이다. 죠니 라이덴의 상징인 짙은 붉은색과 검은색이 조화롭게 배치되어있다.
오른쪽 어깨에는 지온 공국의 마크가 노란색으로 프린팅 되어있고 왼쪽 가슴에는 010이라는 넘버링이 되어있다. 죠니 라이덴의 퍼스널 마크인 유니콘은 따로 프린팅 되어있지 않다.
일반판 건캐논과는 다르게 갤구그의 후덕한 돼지 같은 얼굴이 적용되었다. 소데츠키 갤구그와 똑같은 얼굴이다. 백팩에는 갤구그 캐논이라는 이름답게 캐논이 장착되었고 일반판에는 왼손에 미사일이 장착되어 있지만 조니 라이덴 전용기에는 따로 장착되어있지 않다.
에이스 전용기인데 무장은 일반기 보다 부족하다. 색감은 죠니 라이덴의 붉은 색을 잘 표현했다. 조형적으로는 특별히 일반기와 다른 부분이 없어서 패스. 일반기, 시드 즈고크랑 함께 찍은 사진은 아래쪽에 있다.

This is the Johnny Ridden Custom Gelgoog Cannon from Gundam Converge Vol. 27, which I picked up at ARTBOX. I also bought the standard blue Gelgoog Cannon from the same Converge wave at ARTBOX a while ago, and this one came from a different branch. Ever since I discovered that ARTBOX carries Converge figures, I’ve found myself stopping by whenever I see one.
Johnny Ridden is a Zeon mobile suit pilot who appears in Mobile Suit Variation (MSV), a Gundam side-story setting collection that expands on the world and characters of the original series. According to the MSV lore, he enlisted as a low-ranking non-commissioned officer and rose to the rank of major purely through his abilities as a pilot. He is credited with the third-highest number of confirmed kills in the Principality of Zeon and is known by the nickname "The Crimson Lightning."
Johnny participated in the final battle of the Battle of A Baoa Qu aboard a red Gelgoog, after which his fate became unknown. The Gelgoog Cannon represented by this Converge figure is the machine associated with that final battle. The color scheme makes excellent use of Johnny's signature dark crimson and black, creating a striking appearance.
The right shoulder features the Principality of Zeon emblem printed in yellow, while the left chest is marked with the number "010." However, Johnny Ridden’s personal unicorn insignia is not included on the figure.
Unlike the standard Gelgoog Cannon release, this version uses the classic bulky Gelgoog head sculpt, giving it the distinctive pig-snout-like appearance that many fans associate with the original design. It shares the same head sculpt as the Sleeves-style Gelgoog variants. As the name suggests, a cannon is mounted on the backpack, but unlike the standard release, the Johnny Ridden version does not include the missile launcher attached to the left arm.
It’s a machine customized for an ace pilot, yet its weapon loadout is actually less extensive than the standard version. That said, the figure does a great job capturing Johnny Ridden’s iconic crimson color scheme. Sculpt-wise, there aren’t any major differences compared to the regular Gelgoog Cannon, so there isn’t much else to discuss there.
